２０１３年６月３０日、龍門寺の僧堂落慶および片桐大忍老師の２５回忌法要が、アメリカ・アイオワ州の龍門寺で行われました。 法要には、（オレンジの法衣を着た龍門寺住職のワインコフ 彰顕老師の右から）、永平寺後堂の斎藤芳寛老師、アメリカ三心禅センターの奥村正博老師、飛騨の正宗寺の原田道一老師、（ ワインコフ 彰顕老師の左に）曹洞宗北米総監のルメー大岳老師、片桐トモエさん等、約２００名程の龍門寺ゆかりの参禅者等が出席しました。多くの人々が互いに数十年来の知人・友人で、和やかな時間がすごせました。 ミネソタで楢崎一光老師が弁道会を行ってからもう３０年経ちました。残っているものもあれば、なくなったものもあり、さらに新たに生まれたものもあります。まさに無常。光陰矢の如しです。３０年前の弁道会では、仏教修行のために、アメリカ人がなぜ文化の異なる日本の応量器の作法を学ばなければならないのかと、弁道会中にも係わらず、アメリカ人修行者同士で熱い議論が行われましたのを印象深く思い出します。その弁道会の参加者の多くと３０年ぶりに再会することもできました。次の（３０年目の）法要で何人と再会ができるのか、龍門寺がどうなっているか楽しみにしています。 法要の最後は、般若心経をコーラス曲とした歌も歌われ、アメリカ?らしい法要でした。実際の法要で歌われたものの記録は入手できませんでしたが、下記のようにアメリカでは良く歌われているようです。歌詞は主に般若心経の最後の三行です。 羯帝羯帝波羅羯帝(Gate Gate Paragate) 波羅僧羯帝(Parasamgate)         　 菩提僧莎訶(Bodhi Svaha!)   金曜坐禅会は8月から再開です。

Here is a letter from Joshin Sensei Sunday, March 10 th , from 9h30am to 11h30 am, we will sit quietly, in homage to Moriyama Roshi. If you cannot come to sit with me, Joshin Sensei, and the French Sangha, we hope you will join us  in spirit, to give back to all sentient beings, the good fortune we had to meet a true Dharma teacher.               The right transmission is Sampai- prosternations. M°Dogen wrote, in the Shobogenzo chapter « Raihai Tokuzui » : «When one practices supreme and perfect enlightenment, the most difficult task is to get a guide and teacher. That teacher is not in the form of a man or woman but rather will be a person of great resolve, will be just such a person. The teacher is not a person from the past nor a person from the present. アメリカ龍門寺 住職  ワインコフ彰顕 「生死事大、無常迅速」と言われますが、現実とならない限り私たちは信じようとしません。 　 2012 年 4 月 4 日、ショーシン・ボブ・ケリー和尚が亡くなりました。 87 歳でした。体力が尽きてしまったようです。彼は龍門寺設立メンバーの一人で、亡くなる 1 週間前に話したばかりでした。この知らせが来るのは分かっていましたが、彼の死を告げる電話を受けたとき、 なかなか 受け入れることができませんでした。空に光る雷のように、 世の中はあっという間に変わってしまうものです 。 　龍門寺開山当初、敷地に建物は何もありませんでした。「空き缶に寝る」と言ってショーシンさんが小さなキャンピングトレーラーに寝泊まりしていた日々を思い出します。建物の工事が始った頃、 ショーシンさんは 本堂の床張り工事の手伝いで、電動のこぎりを使い樫の板を切っていたのですが、誤って小指の一部を切り落としたということもありました。仏像を彫り本堂の幕を作ってくれたのも ショーシンさんです 。新設した僧堂の文殊菩薩もそうです。 　人生はあっという間に過ぎ去ってしまいます。ダライラマは「皆、死が生の一部だと知っているが、それに対して誰も準備はできない。」と言っていました。身近な人が亡くなったとき「無常」が現実となります。それに捉われずにいるのは簡単なことではありません。 　人生について、各自それぞれの思いを持っています。何がほしいかほしくないか。物事がどの程度の速さで、どれだけ続くのか、それがどれだけ大事で、自分がどの程度耐えられるか等々。しかし、私たちのこんな思いを超え、この世はそれ自体の流れに従い進んでいきます。それ独自のリズムがあるのです。始まりのない過去から終わりのない未来へ向かう流れです。人生（個人のいのち）はこの流れの中で起こる、つかの間の現象なのです。 　「生死の中に佛あれば、生死なし（定山和尚、 805-881 ）」と言われます。「生死の中に佛なければ、生死にまどはず（夾山和尚、 771-853 ）」とも言われます。 　この「生（いのち）」は「私の」いのちではありません。私たちみんなのいのちは、始まりのない過去と終わりのない未来が具現化したものです。ある意味「生も無く、死も無...

Shoshin Bob Kelly passed away from this life.  He was 87 years old.  His body just gave out.     I had just talked with him a week before his death.  He was one of the founding members of Ryumonji. When I received the phone call saying that he had passed away, I knew it was coming but still could hardly wrap my mind around it.  Impermanence is swift, like a bolt of lightning striking in the empty sky.
