謹賀新年
新しい年を迎え、皆様のご健康とご多幸を心よりお祈り申し上げます。
さて、2011年は瑞岳院禅堂創建30周年の年です。瑞岳院は4月1日からですが、私は2月にブラジルへ渡り、1カ月程度、旧知のチベット仏教グループと合同修練、ブラジル・ポルトアレグレ郊外に建築中の僧堂VilaZenでの摂心、私が以前指導していたポルトアレグレの禅グループでの授戒会等を執り行います。4月に帰国してからは、瑞岳院での月毎の摂心に加え、4月にはドイツから、8月には南米からの修行者グループが来日上山いたします。また、11月中旬には30周年祝賀会が開催されます。
今年の私のキーワードは「初心に帰る」です。忙しい年になりそうですが、30年前の禅堂創建時の気持ちに帰り、道元禅師の教えを広めて行きたいと思っております。瑞岳院で皆様とまたお会いできることを楽しみしています。

Com a chegada do Novo Ano, eu desejo-lhe saude e felicidade de todos do fundo do meu coracao.
2011 e o ano do 30 o aniversario da fundacao do Zendo Zuigakuin. A atividade do Zuigakuin inicia-se no dia 1o de abril, porem, em fevereiro, eu irei ao Brasil e ficarei cerca de um mes, fazendo a pratica conjunta com grupo de budismo tibetano conhecido de longa data, participando de sesshin no Zendo Vila Zen, que esta sendo construido proximo a cidade de Porto Alegre alem da cerimonia de Jyukai na Associacao de Budismo ViaZen onde eu orientava antigamente. Depois do retorno a Zuigakuin, alem do sesshin mensal, receberei grupos de adeptos em junho e agosto, da Alemanha e da America do Sul, respectivamente, que virao ao Japao. Em meados de novembro sera realizada a comemoracao do 30 o aniversario.
Bem, a minha palavra-chave deste ano e "retorno a intencao original". Creio que vai ser um ano com muitas atividases mas pretendo retorno a intencao original de 30 anos atras, quando foi fundado o Zendo, para difundir os ensinamentos de Dogen. Assim, aguardo ansiosamente a ve-los novamente no Zuigakuin.

NEW YEAR GREETING
As we enter the new year, I sincerely pray for your good health and many happiness.
This year marks 30th anniversary since the foundation of Zuigakuin Meditation Hall. Before the start of practice in Zuigakuin from April, I will travel to South America. From February to March, I will be attending the joint practice with Tibetan Buddhism group, with whom I have practiced together many years, and Sesshin in Vila Zen, a Zen monastery that is being developed in a suburb of Porto Alegro, Brazil, and perform Lay-ordination ceremonies in Zen groups in Porto Alegre where I had been teaching. In Zuigakuin after I return to Japan, in addition to monthly sesshins, there will be groups of visiting practitioners from Germany in April and from South America in August. In the middle of November, a ceremony will be held to cerebrate 30th anniversary of Zuigakuin foundation.
My key words for this year is "returning to the first objective". In this year, remembering what I felt and determined at the time of Zuigakuin Meditation Hall's foundation, I wish to spread out the teaching of Zen Master Dogen further. I am looking forward to seeing you all again in Zuigakuin.
